Finbox Features

Stock Research

Finbox offers in-depth research for tens of thousands of stocks from the US and exchanges around the world. Individual stock pages are incredibly thorough while also easy to navigate and color-coded to help you find key information quickly.

One of the useful features that Finbox includes in its stock overviews is a fair value analysis. You can quickly see how a stock’s price compares to analyst estimates, its 52-week range, and Finbox’s own financial models. In addition, Finbox offers a financial health checkup, which provides a quick look at whether a company has strong growth, cash flow, momentum, profits, and value.

Finbox Stock Overview

A detailed dividend summary provides information about a stock’s dividend yield, payout history, and payout ratio. Under the earnings tab, you can see how a stock’s reported earnings compared to analyst estimates for every quarter over the past three years. You can also see how the stock price reacted the day after each earnings report and view analyst revenue and EPS forecasts for the next 10 years and 10 quarters.

Financial Data and Charting

Finbox offers two ways to dig into a company’s financial data. The first is through an interactive data table, which enables you to view income statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements, EBITDA reconciliation, forecasts, and financial ratios.

The second is through a chart builder that’s designed for visualizing financial data. You can plot any number of financial metrics, ratios, forecasts, and more on a single chart. Even better, Finbox lets you control the axes and time horizon for your analysis. You can even compare data for two or more companies on a single chart.

Finbox Financial Charting

Financial Modeling

Finbox offers 15 pre-built financial models to help you determine the fair value of a company. Models are based on discounted cash flow, capital asset pricing, earnings power value, dividend discount, and comparison to peer companies in the same sector.

Finbox Financial Model

Finbox’s models put the calculated fair value front and center, so you can quickly use the default models to determine if a stock may be undervalued. You also have the option to edit the input parameters for any of these models, effectively enabling you to create your own custom financial models within Finbox. You can save custom models and return to them later.

Stock Screener

Finbox offers a customizable stock screener that lets you filter stocks based on hundreds of fundamental, financial, and performance metrics. The selection of filters is very impressive and includes metrics for dividends, capital efficiency, analyst coverage, debt, and growth. It’s relatively easy to build a new screen, and you can save an unlimited number of custom screens to your account. Finbox also includes eight built-in screens to help you find you find value stocks.

Finbox Stock Screener

Screener results are displayed in a table. You can customize the table columns and sort your results by any column. Even better, you can save custom table layouts for re-use across all of your screens.

Investment Ideas

Finbox offers hundreds of unique lists of investment ideas, most of which are modeled on professional investors’ or hedge funds’ portfolios. You can filter these lists by performance, number of holdings, sector focus, and the type of investor or firm the portfolio is modeled after. Even better, you can fork any portfolio to turn it into a watchlist and then add or remove holdings.

Finbox Customization and Layout

Finbox allows you to set up an unlimited number of watchlists as well as save an unlimited number of custom screens and financial models to your account. You can also take notes on individual stocks, and these notes will show up on a stock’s overview page.

Despite offering a wide range of financial analysis tools, Finbox is very easy to navigate. The platform doesn’t have a dashboard, which ends up simplifying the platform’s layout and allows you to jump right into analyzing an individual stock.

Virtually all of the data on Finbox can be exported to Excel or Google Sheets. However, you must pay for a data export upgrade with the Starter plan or subscribe to the Professional plan to enable exports.

Finbox Platform Differentiators

There are tons of stock analysis and research platforms out there, from Atom Finance to MarketBeat, so how does Finbox compare? Finbox offers powerful financial analysis tools for the fundamental investor. With this platform, you can easily visualize a wealth of financial data and compare data between peer companies. You can also dive deep into financial models and build your own custom models to determine a stock’s fair value. The stock screener and ideas lists make it easy to narrow down your search to the most promising growth and value stocks.

What Type of Trader is Finbox Best For?

Finbox is designed for long-term value and growth investors who are comfortable analyzing in-depth financial data. The platform gives you all the tools you need to determine what a company is worth now and what it could be worth in the future. Finbox pays little attention to short-term price action, instead focusing on financial projections up to 10 years into the future.

One of the things that’s great about Finbox is that even though the analysis tools it offers are quite comprehensive, the platform is straightforward to use. Advanced investors who are comfortable building custom financial models will get the most out of the platform, but beginners who want to use Finbox’s default models to find undervalued stocks can do so very easily. For professional investors, Finbox offers the option to export data so you can incorporate it into more advanced financial models.
